01Goal

Take the morning rush off the counter without adopting a full e-commerce platform, and stop selling out on regulars who arrive at nine.

02Approach

A short pre-order form for loaves and pastries the night before, with a cut-off the baker sets from a phone. The homepage shows what is baking today and what has already gone.

03Result

Mornings start with a printable list instead of a queue, and the eight o'clock rush is smaller because half of it was handled the night before.

A counter that opens at midnight

The menu and daily stock are managed from a phone — a few taps between proving and the oven. Whatever is marked sold out disappears from the site immediately, so nobody reserves a sourdough that is already spoken for.

The pre-order form, mid-week.

Pre-orders drop straight into a printable morning list, sorted by pickup time. There is no dashboard to log into and no platform fee — just a form, an email, and a Stripe link for deposits on the bigger orders.

The site is one page. It loads in under a second on the shop’s slow back-room wifi, which is the only performance benchmark that ever mattered here.

“We bake to a list now. The queue is for people who forgot to order.”
